Our history

Sodele Magazzini Generali e Frigoriferi srl is a logistics business operating in the food sector, specialised in the storage, management and distribution of cold-storage food products and more and recognised as an important point of reference in the sphere of logistics services nationwide. 

The company was founded in 1967 in Sant’Ilario d’Enza, on the border between the provinces of Reggio Emilia and Parma, an area that was already important then in terms of agriculture and food production and is today known throughout the world as Italy's “food valley”.
It is easy to reach, with direct access to the Via Emilia and located just a few kilometres from the Reggio Emilia, Parma and Campegine-Terre di Canossa entrances to the A1 motorway (the last being only 3 km away).

It also has an important private railway sidetrack that connects to the Milan-Bologna railway network.
The company has evolved steadily over the years, expanding, upgrading and constructing new refrigerated storage compartments in order to offer constantly improving and increasingly specialised services to our clientèle, whose expectations and awareness of the numerous needs and requirements of the food sector continue to grow. 

Its infrastructure currently occupies a total of 56 thousand m2, with a volume of 84,000 m³.
1967 - Sodele is founded. Until the early 1990s it deals with the handling and storage of goods using Viltos containers.
1995 - First warehouse in the region with shelved racks whose highest stowage position is at 10.5 m above floor level, with a 2,200-pallet capacity.
2000 - Construction of first refrigerated storage compartment, -25°C with a 4,400-pallet capacity.
2002 - Construction of second refrigerated storage compartment, -25°C with a 2,400-pallet capacity.
2003 - Construction of third refrigerated storage compartment, at +4°C for chilled products. 
2014 - Construction of fourth refrigerated storage compartment, -25°C with a 3,400-pallet capacity.
2014 - 2000 m2 expansion, temperature-controlled at +18°C.
2018 - Construction of fifth refrigerated storage compartment, -25°C with a 3,700-pallet capacity. 

Facilities for the storage of perishable goods

The warehouse offering cold-storage facilities has a volume of approximately 84,000 m³. 
The temperature of the storage compartments is constantly ensured, 24 hours a day, thanks to both on-site and remote monitoring. 
Large service areas guarantee and facilitate vehicle parking.
